All birth fathers have legal rights and specific responsibilities regarding the pregnancy and adoption planning. At Lifetime Adoption , we are happy to discuss adoption questions and concerns with you or you can speak with a counselor. You may select the adoptive parents along with the birth mother and be included in on-going contact during the adoption process and after placement. You are also eligible to apply for birth parent educational scholarships from the Lifetime Adoption Foundation after the adoption to help you with your future educational plans.

Keep in mind, that you need to take action to exercise your rights, especially if you and the mother are no longer in a relationship. This means that you have to take the initiative to be involved if that is what you are seeking. If you do nothing and expect to be involved in adoption planning, you likely won’t be.

Now is the time to play an active role to show that you want to make the best decision for your child too.
