You have to be honest with both your new love and the baby mama. Honestly, it’s not all about you. You need to focus strictly on the well-being of the child and what you want for their future. The child won’t go to whichever parent wants it the most. And to be honest, just because you and your new girlfriend want to raise the baby, doesn’t mean that is the best option.

First of all, the mother of your baby would have to agree, and likely she would have to agree to pay child support. Most women are not interested in letting their ex raise a child with a new woman. Co-parenting is not easy under the best of circumstances, and starting out with one parent wanting adoption and the other wanting to parent with a new woman is definitely not the best circumstances.

What is your current situation? Are you ready to be a parent? If you’re struggling financially yourself with a low paying job and do not have a permanent place to live, you’re setting yourself up for failure and possibly CPS for stepping in. Although this may not go down easy, it’s about the approach. You have to be honest with both your new love and the baby mama. You need to focus strictly on the well-being of the child and what you want for their future.
