A Letter from Matt & AnnMarie
Thank you for taking the time to consider our family. Adoption is woven into the fabric of our lives as Matt and his two sisters were adopted, as was one of our nieces and nephews. Adoption is “who we are” and we are choosing to expand our family in this way as we’ve been unable to conceive.
Our home is full of activity, fun, and laughter. We look forward to adding to our family, cherishing everyday life, and create lifetime memories. Thank you for considering us.
Our story is a reminder of how God cares about even the smallest details! While we met through mutual friends, we were stunned to realize Matt’s parents and AnnMarie’s cousins had been best friends for nearly two decades. Both of our families hail from Minnesota, and we share the Midwestern values of hard work, faith, family, and community in common.
We have been happily married for several years now and have a wonderful son, Alex, from AnnMarie’s previous marriage. We have a family bucket list that includes visiting all 59 National Parks, and we take advantage of long weekends and school breaks to getaway.
We are excited to add a little bundle of joy to our family.
It’s amazing how I’ve been blessed by my wife AnnMarie, and I can honestly say I knew she was the one after our first date. AnnMarie is one of the hardest working individuals I’ve ever met with a passion for creating for others – other opportunities, memories, adventures, the list goes on. AnnMarie is the rock of our family and indulges our family with love and laughter. She is quick to initiate a party or family get together and can’t wait for the everyday rituals of bath time, reading books, taking walks, and rocking a little one to sleep. Each day is a blessing, and I’m beyond thankful for her.
Matt is the answer to many prayers! He is calm, collected, steady, and funny. He is quick to crack a funny joke and can smooth over any situation. He’s also the cook in our home and makes the best tacos and BBQ. His main strength is adaptability and I’ve never seen a situation he can’t handle. He loves sports, working with and teaching kids, and pugs- especially our little Gracie. His priority is our family and his interests include country music, coaching basketball, making others happy, and good food. He is excited to nurture a little one and teach them how to play ball, splash in the water, ride a bike, or crack an egg.
Alex is a ball of energy, fun, and affection. He loves good morning hugs and goodnight kisses. His favorite activities are basketball, riding scooters, playing with the neighborhood kids and swimming in our backyard pool. Alex has been praying for a baby brother or sister since he was three years old and is so excited to become a caring big brother. He is most looking forward to making his sibling laugh, sharing the playroom, and introducing them to the neighborhood kids.
We live in a large two-story home in a suburb surrounded by neighborhood families with many kids. We share out home with our sweet pug, Gracie, and our snuggly kitty, Jingles. We are within a mile from our local schools and numerous parks. Our family’s favorite local park has a large lake with ducks to feed, a splash pad, two playgrounds, a walking path, and a great pizza place.
We love celebrating holidays. Playing with cousins, hosting neighborhood pool parties, play dates and making hot cocoa and cookies during Christmas time. Our home includes a large front and back yard and has plenty of space to enjoy a meal outdoors, play tag or swing in the hammock. We have a lovely room ready for a baby and a playroom with space for coloring, toys, and lots of fun!
Our promise to welcome your little one into our home with unconditional love and acceptance. We will provide them with a home where they can learn, grow, love and be loved.
We promise to provide a nurturing environment where they will be taught how to love, laugh, and forgive with a positive Christian foundation. Your child will enjoy an abundance of family and friends showering them with affection.
We will make sure your child knows who you are, the life you’ve given them, and of your love. We are open to sharing letters, pictures, and visits if you are comfortable.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
Our family enjoys adventure and lives an active lifestyle. One of our family bucket list items is to visit all the National Parks, and we've visited four this past year, including the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. As a basketball coach, Matt is active with athletics and enjoys teaching Alex about sports and helping him with school projects. AnnMarie is active with yoga, and as a family, we love to hike.
We've been blessed to have a home where we can host get-togethers and holiday celebrations. Matt loves his smoker and makes a mean BBQ, while AnnMarie is the ultimate hostess. On Sunday evenings, we open our home to a "small group" study for couples with children from our church. We love doing life in the community and supporting others.
Christianity is at the center of our family. AnnMarie's father is a retired minister and Matt's parents are active in various Christian organizations. As a Christian family, we believe in teaching our children about Jesus Christ and modeling service to one another and our community.
Our Musical Interest
While it varies AnnMarie enjoys Christian artists and with Matt's influence is expanding her appreciation for country music.
About Our Home
The pillars of our home center around faith, family, and friends. We enjoy hosting a multitude of friends and family during the year and enjoy sharing the blessing we've received. Our home is cozy and the door is always open.
Alex will turn ten this fall and is so very excited to become a big brother. He is nurturing with an outgoing and loving personality that exudes love, kindness, and protection.
We live in the state of...
Arizona. AnnMarie was born in South Dakota and has also lived for shorter periods of time in New Mexico and Toronto, Canada. Matt was born in South Korea, adopted as an infant and raised in Minnesota. He has lived in Arizona for 14 years after moving from Minnesota. While we do enjoy getting out of the heat occasionally, Arizona will always be home to us.
Our town is a small, quiet community in central Arizona with our community schools just a bike ride away. We have lived in our current home in a cul-de-sac for almost three years. We are blessed to have wonderful neighbors, which include a half-dozen young children between the ages of three and ten. There is LOTS of outdoor play time and we look out for and help one other.
